According to research by Manchester, Inc., four out of ten newly promoted managers and executives fail within 18 months of starting new jobs. The leaders with the highest failure rates include: senior-level executives (39%), sales executives (30%), marketing executives (25%), and operations executives (23%). The reasons cited include: lack of performance, inability to set clear expectations with their boss, failure to successfully integrate with the corporate culture, inability to build teamwork with staff and peers, and lack of internal business savvy. |
